Hotel

The Conference Hotel, The Hilton Madison Monona Terrace, is adjacent to the conference facilities. We have reserved a block of rooms for Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. The room rate is $134.00 plus applicable taxes.

To make reservations, contact the hotel directly at (608) 255-5100 and identify yourself as a LOEX conference attendee.

Please do not reserve your room until you receive a registration confirmation from LOEX.

Travel

By Air:

To Madison:

More than 75 flights a day arrive and depart from the Madison airport (also known as Dane County Regional Airport). The airport is approximately five miles northeast of the conference hotel, and serves most major airlines. Your flight connection, depending on the airline, will be through one of the following cities: Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Denver, Detroit, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Pittsburgh or St. Louis.

The Hilton will provide free shuttle service to LOEX attendees from the Madison airport to the hotel and conference center. Check back here later for more details. If your arrival is at a time when the shuttle service is not available, you can take a cab, rent a car, or take public transportation from the Madison airport to the hotel. A taxi from the airport to the Hilton Madison Monona Terrace costs approximately $12.00.

To Milwaukee:

The Milwaukee airport (Mitchell International) is 80 miles east of Madison. You may wish to rent a car at the airport. Or, the Badger Bus runs eight daily roundtrips between the Milwaukee airport and downtown Madison. The bus trip takes approximately two hours. When arriving in Madison, depart the bus at the Madison Bus Depot (2 S. Bedford St.). It's a one-mile cab ride from the bus depot to the conference hotel. To Chicago O'Hare:

Chicago's O'Hare International Airport is approximately 125 miles southeast of Madison. You may wish to rent a car at the airport. Or, the Van Galder Bus runs 12 daily roundtrips between O'Hare and Madison. The bus trip takes approximately three hours. When arriving in Madison, depart the bus at the UW Memorial Union (800 Langdon St.). It's a two-mile cab ride from the Memorial Union to the conference hotel. By Car:

You may wish to follow the directions from the Hilton's Web site or from the Monona Terrace's Web site.

Located in south central Wisconsin, Madison is easily accessible via several major highways. Madison is a: 1-1/2 hour drive from Milwaukee (via I-94) and a 2-1/2 hour drive from Chicago (via I-90), and a 4-1/2 hour drive from Minneapolis/St. Paul (via I-94).

Parking:

The Hilton Madison Monona Terrace Hotel has underground parking available to guests for a current charge of $9 per day.

The Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center parking is accessible via East Wilson St. and the eastbound lanes of John Nolen Dr.

Monday - Friday: $0.85/hr
After 5 PM $3.00
Maximum $10.50/day
Weekends: $3/day

Short-term or all-day parking is available throughout downtown Madison in various public lots (overnight parking is discouraged). Information about rates, hours, and disabled parking is available at the Parking Division of the Department of Transportation Web site or by calling 266-4761 (TTY 267-9623) between 7:30 am and 4:15 pm, Monday through Friday.
