Preconference - Directions

"Bridging Learning Differences: Perceptual Thinking Patterns" will be held on Thursday, May 8th, 1:00-4:30, at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, Pyle Center.

The Pyle Center is the University of Wisconsin Extension's state-of-the-art distance education and conference center. It is located on Lake Mendota, at 702 Langdon Street Madison, on the corner of Langdon Street and Lake Street (just down the block from the UW Memorial Union and Terrace). The number at the front desk is (608) 262-1122.

Walking Directions from Madison Hilton Hotel or Monona Terrace Convention Center:

1. Follow Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. to the State Capitol building.

2. Either skirt the Capitol building to the left or cut through (remember to look up at the dome!), exiting through the west doorway, which opens onto a view down the length of State Street.

3. Follow State Street all the way to where it ends in a T at Lake Street (6-blocks, taking anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes, depending on your pace).

4. Turn Right onto Lake Street, and walk one block toward Lake Mendota.

5. On the corner of Lake and Langdon Streets, you will see the Pyle Center. The front entrance is on Langdon.

6. Once inside, either check the digital room schedule for the Preconference room location, or ask a friendly staff person at the front desk.

From the Pyle Center to the Madison Hilton Hotel or Monona Terrace Convention Center:

1. Exit the Pyle Center through the front doors, turn Left onto Langdon, walk to end of block, and turn Right onto Lake Street. Follow for one block to State Street, on your left.

2. Take State Street east, all the way to where it ends at the State Capitol Building (you can't miss it). This 6-block walk takes anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes, depending on your pace.

3. Either skirt the Capitol building to the right or cut through (remember to look up at the dome!), exiting through the SE or E doorway.

4. Once on the East side of the Capitol, Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. will lead you directly to the Madison Hilton Hotel (on the corner at 9 E. Wilson Street), and the Monona Terrace Convention Center.

From the Dane County Regional Airport:

The airport is on Madison's northeast side, about 15-30 minutes by car from the Pyle Center, depending on traffic.

Union Cab and Madison Taxi both charge from $13 - $14 for the airport/Pyle Center trip. Badger Cab is less expensive, but is a ride-share service, and so may take longer.
