There's always beautiful jewelry and blown glass art available in addition to paintings and photographs.

Madison Art Center

The Art Center is located downtown in the Madison Civic Center building, two blocks from the State Capitol. The current exhibition, Highlights from the Permanent Collection, features works of photography, sculpture, painting, drawing and prints, and explores three major themes-Subject/Object, Time/Place and Idea/Action-along with artists ranging from Frida Kahlo to Cindy Sherman. Also exhibiting a retrospective of the films and videos of Rodney Graham, a Vancouver-based artist. Don't miss the gift shop!

Madison Children's Museum
100 State St.
You might not have your kids with you at LOEX (if you do, this is the place to come!) but you can find wonderful gifts to bring back to them from the Children's Museum gift store. One block from the State Capitol building on State St.

Wisconsin Historical Museum
30 N. Carroll St.
Located on the State St. corner of the Capitol Square, you can explore Wisconsin's distinctive heritage and a variety of other American history topics through artifacts, photographs, full-scale dioramas, audio-visual presentations, and interactive multimedia programs. Stop by the Museum Store for the best Wisconsin souvenirs.

Wisconsin Veterans Museum
30 W. Mifflin St.
Opposite the Historical Museum at the other corner of State St. and the Capitol Square, this museum tells the story of men and women from the Badger State who served in America's conflicts from the Civil War to the Persian Gulf War.
