Madison Public Library (0.6 miles from the Hilton)
Central Library, 201 W. Mifflin St.
Considering that the 14th largest research library in the United States (i.e., the UW-Madison library system) is only five blocks away, Madison Public Library has a very impressive collection of its own. Take a moment to stop in and browse the local and national newspapers and magazines. If you have time, check out the large cooking and travel sections, too.

Wisconsin Historical Society Library (1.3 miles from the Hilton)
816 State Street, 2nd Floor
The library owns nearly 4 million published sources on the history of North America and Wisconsin, politics, and related subjects; government publications; newspapers; and women's and ethnic studies. Its collection of newspapers, dating from the 18th through the 20th centuries is the second largest in the country after the Library of Congress.

UW-Madison Campus Libraries

CCBC (Cooperative Children's Book Center) (1.5 miles from the Hilton)

The CCBC of the School of Education houses a nationally recognized collection of children's and young adult literature for the study and research about children's literature.

College Library (1.5 miles from the Hilton)

The undergraduate library occupies the first three floors of the Helen C. White Hall. This popular library offers extended building hours, the largest computer lab on campus, and one of the most beautiful views of Lake Mendota. The Open Book Cafe, in Room 1250, is opening this Spring.

Memorial Library (1.2 miles from the Hilton)

The largest single library collection in the state of Wisconsin and the main research facility on campus for the humanities and social sciences.
Memorial Library also houses: the Department Special Collections (9th Floor), the Mills Music Library (Basement B162), University Archives (Basement B134), the University of Wisconsin System Women's Studies Librarian's Office (Room 430), and the Silver Buckle Press (Room 236)

School of Library & Information Studies Library (1.5 miles from the Hilton)

The SLIS laboratory library provides a rich collection on the history, theory and practice of librarianship and information science. A must-see view of the lake!

Steenbock Library (2.0 miles from the Hilton)
550 Babcock Drive
Located between the Allen Centennial Gardens and the Babcock Hall Dairy Store, Steenbock is the primary resource library for the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, School of Human Ecology, School of Veterinary Medicine, and UW Extension, Cooperative Extension.

Wendt Library (1.75 miles from the Hilton)
215 N. Randall Ave.
Wendt Library serves as the primary library for the College of Engineering and the departments of Computer Sciences, Statistics, and Atmospheric & Oceanic Sciences.
